Damien Ryles is a patient and enthusiastic teacher, and keen songwriter, with a passion for contemporary music. He aims to accommodate his students' individual learning needs and interests by being student focused, drawing on variety of material, and employing a number of different pedagogical methodologies. Central to his teaching practices is that of seeking out pieces of the student's choice to form their repertoire.
After having achieving early success in his music studies, receiving scholarships, and completing units in both performance and music history, Damien left the measured seaside living of his home town of Warrnambool to continue his music training at the University of Melbourne. There he completed a Bachelor degree in Music and a Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching, majoring in instrumental music teaching.
Damien divides his time between his own musical projects and helping others with theirs.
