Born in Taiwan, I-Han Phoebe Yang commenced piano lessons at the age of five. In 1997, she moved to Australia where she continued her studies with Mr Betros. In the subsequent years, she obtained her Associate Diploma in Music (AMusA) while still at school. In 2003, Phoebe commenced her Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Music at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, the University of Melbourne, where she studied accompaniment/fortepiano with Dr Mark MgGee and achieved her Licentiate Diploma in Music (LMusA). She also studied bassoon as her minor with Rolf Kulfinann (Principle, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra). In 2008, she completed her Bachelor of Music with Honours. From an early age, Phoebe has developed a great interest in teaching. Thus, Phoebe has taught both piano and theory privately since 2006. In 2009, Phoebe will commence her Master of Teaching (Secondary) degree specializing in music at the University of Melbourne.
