About

My goal with any student is to give them the skills necessary to perform whatever they want to play. I work with beginners, intermediate and advanced violinists and violists to build their ability as both technically proficient and performance ready musicians. We focus not only on sheet music and technique but also dedicate time to improvisation, ear training and understanding how music works. I also provide expertise in recording, filming and producing music and am able to bridge the gap between classical training and amplified performance. I am a student of Christian Howes; associate professor at Berklee College of Music, and I am a performing and recording violinist with 15 years of experience and a background in classical, jazz, contemporary pop and rock music, and busking. I have performed Australia wide and internationally in solo and group shows with members of Post Modern Jukebox, Dave Koz, and Vulfpeck, amongst others and have been a featured musician for TEDx Melbourne 2018. I grew up performing with Canberra Youth Orchestra and Monash University Symphony Orchestra. I’ve taught both kids and adults, but I’m always happy to provide advice and help out newer students. Whatever your musical ability, give me a call and let’s have a chat about how you want to learn.
