Nicholas Wilson grew up in Canberra, learning piano from a young age. He has been teaching music for over twenty years, with his piano lessons spanning a repertoire from classical through to popular and jazz styles. He also teaches music theory, music history, basic improvisation, aural training and music technology. Nicholas has produced experimental music under the name of Reductionist and has had his compositions performed by Melbourne contemporary music ensemble Re-Sound, including a piece on their recent CD release Quiet On The Bridge, available from Move Records. He has taught music composition, music industry, music technology and sound production at RMIT University, JMC Academy and MWT Institute. He has played keyboards in various musical acts, including Space Is Ace, The Entwined, Continuum, Tiatto and Random Acts of Elevator Music. He has also composed and produced material for sound art projects in the Melbourne Fringe Festival and Next Wave Festival.
