About

I’m a tertiary qualified professional musician and educator living in the Brunswick/Coburg area. I currently teach at Box Hill Institute in their Bachelor of Music program as well as from my own private teaching studio on the border of Brunswick and Coburg. My main instruments are Bass Guitar and Guitar and my second instruments are Drums and Piano.

I have 15 years teaching and performance experience and have written for and performed on dozens of albums in many different styles and genres. I have toured all over Australia extensively and overseas as a performing musician.

I have performed at The Sydney Opera house, on Spicks and Specks, Sydney Myer Music Bowl, Vivid Sydney, Queenscliff Music Festival, The Forum, Panama Festival Tasmania, and Sun Cycle Festival to name a few.

Some recordings I’ve played on:

I teach from my own well-equipped home studio with a variety of resources to use during lessons (also it’s a 5-minute walk from Moreland Station). The studio includes guitars for you to learn on during lessons, if you don’t have one, a piano and drum kit.

Really happy to take on any skill level, including complete beginners, as I’m just keen to teach people and talk about music. The most important thing for me is that my students enjoy themselves and are happy with the music they are making.

Some things that can be covered in lessons:

– composition / songwriting lessons

– music theory / aural training

– audition and entrance exam preparation (eg Monash
University, VCA, VCASS, NCAT NMIT, Box Hill Institute, AIM,
JMC Academy)

– jazz improvisation and advanced harmonic concepts

– Production lessons using programs like Ableton Live,
GarageBand and Logic
Lessons begin at $40 per half hour or $80 for a whole hour.

My number is 0457 141 981, hope to hear from you!
