About

An eclectic, classically trained pianist and teacher with a love for a wide range of music, and varied pianistic experience including solo, accompaniment, chamber, orchestra, theatre, conducting, arrangement, and composition.

Po has been teaching piano for 5 years and has 17 years experience at the piano. He has completed an Honours year in music at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music under the tutelage of Dr Kristian Chong, after completing a double Bachelor degree in Music and Commerce at Monash University, where he learnt from Aura Go, Len Vorster, Robert Chamberlain and Dr Kenji Fujimura.

He is comfortable teaching at all levels, with two years experience working as an instrumental music teacher at a high school, and current students ranging from primary school to adult.

Recent achievements include coming first place in season 1 of 3MBS 103.5FM’s 2019 series of The Talent and Monash University’s 2018 Concerto Competition, as well as receiving multiple awards from the Monash Arts Faculty. He passed his LMusA with honours and was successful in VCE music.

As a piano teacher, Po aims to help students achieve their musical goals, whether it be to reach a certain level or to be comfortable playing in a certain style. He enjoys challenging students to be better and discovering what they can achieve, and endeavours to foster a high standard of musicality and technique. Above all, he believes teaching should be about helping students create music.

Po holds lessons at his home in Mount Waverley. He holds a current Working With Children Check.
