Vannie Ip-Winfield completed her Master in Music Therapy (research scheme) at the University of Melbourne. Her principle instrument is piano, and has maintained her playing at performance level through her work as a music therapist. She is experienced in piano teaching, piano accompaniment and preparing students for AMEB exams from beginner to advanced (Grade 8) level (Teaching since 2001). As an experienced music therapist, she taught and presented her research in cross-cultural music therapy as a guest lecturer at the University of Melbourne and in the Netherlands. She has provided music therapy for people with various disabilities.
She was passionate about music performance; students will be taught on her grand piano at her home studio. She was awarded first place in piano trio at the Ringwood Eisteddfod in 1999. For her students, Vannie believes in the promotion of self-esteem and the development of musicality through positive experiences, encouragement and interactive teaching methods. Vannie is caring in nature and is sensitive to her students' needs.
