About

Haydn Reeder teaches pupils of all ages. He believes that one can take up the study of music at any age. He is an encouraging teacher who aims to see the student’s confidence and abilities grow. During lessons he enables his student to get the most out of practice. He also offers performance opportunities to students. Strong influences on Haydn’s work came from personal contact with prominent European and English teachers, performers and composers. Since his return to Australia in 1983 he has been keen to contribute to the Australian music community in the belief that Australians are capable of matching the performance standards and creativity of European counterparts. He believes that in order to reach high standards at advanced levels, solid foundations must be established at a young age. He is an enthusiastic accompanist of singers and instrumentalists. Haydn has worked for music publishers in Vienna and London and now in Melbourne for the AMEB and local composers.
