I’m a North Melbourne-based pianist (and sound engineer/sound designer/all-round sound nerd) offering piano lessons (including general musicianship and music theory if that’s your jam) from my little setup on Flemington Rd that is the process of being organized, but I have a lovely digital piano that I learned on myself for students to play, and also my pride and joy, the Korg SV-1. Alternatively I’m happy to come to you if you’re nearbyish and you’ve got keys!
I’ve been teaching for 5 years and playing keys for 15. I grew up competing in classical competitions and working towards my AMEB grades, and then switched to jazz and contemporary styles when I was a teen.
My focus is to build musicality, not just to just teach you to play the notes on the page. Whether that’s learning to play and sing for fun, or learning a classical piece for your family’s Christmas party, I want to make sure you’re ultimately getting something out of it that makes you happy and is sustainable!
I’ve taught all ages, beginners to intermediate, and any style or for any purpose (VCE exam prep, just for fun, practice for a performance, etc). Since lockdown obviously all of this has come to a halt and I’m only just getting back on the wagon, so I’m excited to be teaching again.
