Mrs. Quinn. Thank you for being my piano teacher. Thank you for being one of my most important people to my musical journey. Thank you for being a Mentor to my own teaching and thank you for being a friend through all the years.
Throughout almost a whole decade of my life, you have been a huge blessing, encouraging me to go further and strive for more in my music. I am always amazed at how far we have come from when I started, not knowing a single scale, and not studying any Theory, to being Western Sydney’s top Music Undergraduate and getting an A+ in 8th Grade. None of this would have been possible without your guidance and support.
I can’t emphasise how important you have been to not only my piano playing but to my whole music career. Thank you for allowing me to share musical passions with you and thank you for helping me to shape my own thoughts about music. Thank you for all the time you spent outside of lessons, marking theory and gathering information about pieces and thank you for the times we sometimes disagreed on performance instructions. Thank you for putting up with me when I didn’t practise as much as you would like and thank you for allowing me to be the musician I wanted to be.
Sincerely,
Peter de V
