I’m Tamara Vasilevitsky, a piano teacher, performer and accompanist with a Master of Music from Minsk University and full accreditation with the Victorian Music Teachers’ Association (VMTA).
My performing career has taken me across Russia and Europe as a soloist and accompanist with leading European musicians. I have won international competitions in Warsaw and Prague, and the International Festival for Variety Artists in Moscow. In Melbourne, I work as an official accompanist at the University of Melbourne’s Conservatorium of Music and perform at venues including Hamer Hall and Melbourne Recital Centre. My repertoire spans classical, jazz and folk music from several traditions.
I enjoy sharing my love of music with students aged six through to adults, teaching from my home studio and online. Drawing on traditional classical methods and the Yamaha approach, I adapt lessons to each student’s goals, interests and individual way of learning. I want students to leave each lesson feeling excited, knowing what to practise and confident they can do it.
I support students preparing for VCE, AMEB examinations at all grades, competitions and festivals, as well as those playing for pleasure. My students have earned prizes, awards and scholarships, with a 100% pass rate in VCE and AMEB examinations. Each year, I organise a concert for family and friends, giving students the opportunity to share favourite pieces, develop performance confidence and learn from one another.
