About

MUSIC THERAPY SERVICES for children and adults with a disability ADULTS GROUP Music allows people and communities to engage, interact and build positive relationships. Through participation in music therapy, people are able to build on their interest in music to address personal goals, such as mood regulation, social interaction, communication skills, and community engagement. Our music therapist focuses on inclusion and creativity, offering participants an environment that is centered on their needs and interests. The Adults group runs in Brunswick on Saturday mornings, NDIS funding available. $40 per session. FAMILIES GROUP Music often brings great pleasure to young children, and it can be a motivating way to enjoy interactions with others and learn new skills. Music therapy offers a fun and encouraging environment for children to increase their social skills, optimise development, and enhance self-regulation, in a way that the entire family can enjoy. This group is for children under 5 years. The Families Group runs in North Fitzroy on Wednesday morning, and is funded by HCWA and NDIS. $40 per session. ACCESSIBLE MUSIC LESSONS Alice completed her training in flute performance at The University of Melbourne in 2014, and has since completed a Master of Music Therapy at The University of Melbourne in 2016. A passionate teacher of music, Alice provides students with a structured and supportive environment that focusses on instilling a love of music and enjoyment of music-making. Students develop an organised approach to practice and are encouraged to share their music with others. Music lessons are also available for children and adults with disability, with Alice using her training as a music therapist to ensure that the student's learning environment is accessible and inclusive. (NDIS funding may be available). Alice is a Registered Music Therapist (RMT) with the Australian Music Therapy Association, and is a provider with the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) and HCWA (Helping Children With Autism). Alice also holds a current police check and Working with Children Check
