Amelia Granturco has been playing the Piano Accordion since the age of 3. Amelia studied under Vince Fuda in the 1990's and later under Dr. Elizabeth Jones. Amelia commenced her Bachelor of Music in Classical Performance under the direction of Dr. Jones in 2008 at the Australian Institute of Music. She went onto study a Graduate Diploma in Education (Music-Secondary) and a Graduate Certificate in Religious Education at the Australian Catholic University and is currently undertaking study toward her Masters of Educational Leadership at The University of New South Wales. Amelia is a High School Music Teacher and Band leader in Sydney. She is an active member of the Accordion Society of Australia and assists with rehearsals of the society's NSW Orchestra. The group have just released their new album ON AIR which was produced by Amelia. She has also taken on the role of conductor of the Abruzzo Choir of Sydney, an Italian folkloric choir. Having toured Italy, Germany, Austria, China, New Zealand and Australia her passion for the accordion is deeply rooted in Tango Nuevo and particularly the works of Astor Piazzolla and Richard Galliano.
