Amy has always had a passion for music and teaching. Since completing a Bachelor of Music/Bachelor of Education at UNSW, she also completed a Cert IV in Acting and Theatrecraft at the C3 College at Oxford Falls.
From the age of 12 Amy has also been interested in musical theatre and performing. She was involved with the Forest Youth Theatre Company for 5 years, performing in shows such as “Annie”, “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” & “Les Miserables”. She also appeared in the Canned Laughter’s production of “RENT” in 2006.
Amy has also been dancing for 15 years, training in jazz, song & dance, tap, hip hop and contemporary. In the recent WTC production “The Magic of the Musicals” she was the only female selected to be a part of all dance numbers. She regularly attends classes at the Sydney Dance Company, with a focus on developing her skills in ballet, contemporary and lyrical.
Amy has been full-time teaching for 6 years as well as private instrument tutoring for 2 years. Her teaching philosophy is developing a greater skills set and appreciation for the instrument and the given repertoire in order to build a strong musical foundation that will progress as her students learn and grow themselves.
