My name is Deanna and I am a violin tutor working in Sydney.
I offer private tutoring for students of any age that are beginner or intermediate level.
I personally was trained with Suzuki since the age of 6, and after taking a break, picked the violin back up again and am currently studying under a very sought after teacher who caters to high-level violin players.
I started my violin teaching by giving a lesson to a young (10 years old) beginner violin student, and suddenly realised just how much I truly loved teaching! I had never enjoyed teaching as much as I did that day, and I now give her weekly lessons, which is being bumped up to 2 lessons per week by her mother.
I am currently looking for more students to tutor, and am very happy to work on any pieces they like. Of course, I also have my own resources that I am familiar with, and if the student doesn't have any specific pieces they need help on at the time (e.g. for an upcoming performance/exam), then I like to structure my lessons around my resources. My pieces cater directly towards each individual, and lessons include technique, tonalisation, fun excercises, posture, and note reading, among other things. The most important thing to me as a tutor is that the student truly enjoys the lesson and feels like it is benefiting them.
I am happy to travel to the student's location, or to hire a room at a local library/school for the lesson. I offer 30 minute, 45 minute, and hour long lessons, but this can of course be tailored to your needs.
If you would like to discuss whether I am a suitable match for your student, please feel free to contact me!
