Denise Carney Music Studio
Denise Carney Music Studio began in 1998 in Kenmore, Brisbane. In 2015 I relocated to Forest Lake and now have my studio there. I learned piano as a six year old and continued up until grade 4 and quit at age 15.
After my career in Administration and my career as a mother took over much of my life until round the age of 50 when I sat for my Grade 5 exam as an adult student. From here I went on to finish my AMEB requirements and then to study for my Diploma of Music Teaching which I completed in 2002.
Teaching music is my passion and I do not find it difficult. My studio has gone from a 40 plus student studio to a very small one. Because of my relocation I have had to almost start over.
I am keen to help children reach their potential in music at an affordable cost. Adults are also welcome. The youngest child I have taught is a 2 year old and the oldest was in her seventies. You are never too old or too young to learn music.
I encourage my students to sit for exams through the AMEB but am happy to teach piano and flute even if you don't want to take exams.
I was a professional member of the Music Teachers Association of Queensland for a few years and met many other teachers. I gained a lot of knowledge through workshops held by MTAQ and also just meeting with other teachers. Occasionally the AMEB puts on workshops, especially when they introduce a new series of books and this I have found very helpful.
If you want to enhance yours or your childrens lives with music why not give me a call and have a chat.
