Dimitri, founder of Deeaye Music, completed his Bachelor of Music/Education at the University of Melbourne in 2006. He went on to complete his Masters of Music Studies in 2008.
Dimitri started on the trumpet in year 7 and developed a passion for music and pursued many avenues while in high school. Such as, being involved with Melbourne Youth Music as 1st trumpet for Percy Grainger Youth Orchestra and Melbourne Youth Symphonic Band, the Marching Band involved with the 2000 Sydney Olympics opening Ceremony, and AMEB exams all the way to AmusA by the time he finished 1st year Uni. While at Uni, he had the privilage of learning from the greats such as Rob Sims, Geoff Payne and Tristram Williams. All the while playing 1st trumpet in the Melb Uni Big Band and Wind Ensemble.
Today, he is a full time Classroom and Instrumental Teacher in Music in a High School in the South East Region. He Coordinates a special Music Enhancement program for students with a passion and a interest to pursue music. In collaboration with many great teachers, he has developed tasks and courses that work with school curriculum, which in turn prepares students for Music in VCE and Tertiary Level.
