Lessons are tailor made for your own goals and ambitions as a Guitarist. Gerard has completed a Bachelor of Music from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music with post graduate studies in Spain with flamenco guitarist Jose Ignacio Franco, and with Carlos Bonell, guitar professor at the Royal College of Music, London. Gerard was awarded the winner of the Queensland Conservatorium of Music Guitar Prize and Nominated for the Freedman Fellowship. His lessons address an overall development of finger style guitar technique, reading notation, improvisation, music theory, practice techniques and preparation to AMEB and Trinity College exams. Auditions and live performances are also a focus. With over 13 years teaching experience his lessons offer insight to the world of Guitar and professional development to any performing artist

QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor of Music, Queensland Conservatorium of Music with Post Graduate Studies in Spain with Jose Ignacio Franco, and with Carlos Bonell professor of Classical Guitar at the Royal College of Music, London. Professional development studies with John Mills, Academy of Music (UK), Wolfgang Muthspiel (AT), Pavel Steidl (CZ), Phillip Houghton (AUS), and Maximo Diego Pujol (AR). PERFORMANCE HIGHLIGHTS - Have been supporting Tomatito and Estrella Morente at the Barbican Theatre in London with Flamenco group Candela. Also supporting Buena Vista Social Club at Blues Fest, Fanfare Ciocarlia, Gypsy Queens and Kings and Cindy Lauper. EXPERIENCE - Touring to regional and major cities across Australia to perform at festivals like Woodford Folk Festival, National Folk Festival, Falls Fest, Blues Fest, Perth/Sydney/Brisbane Festivals and Noosa Jazz festival. Along with major theatres including QPAC, Brisbane Powerhouse, Tanks Arts Centre, Judith Wright Centre, Melbourne Arts Centre and Spiegeltent.
