Giuliano Di Ienno studied at the Conservatorium of Music “Luisa D'Annunzio” Institute of High Culture in Pescara (Italy), where he achieved the Bachelor of Music (Saxophone) in 2013 and the Master of Music (Saxophone) with honours in 2015. During his musical studies, he took part in many International Saxophone Masterclasses deepening his musical training.
Throughout his musical career, he performed in many concert halls as a soloist with accompaniment Piano, Woodwind and Symphony Orchestra. He participated in various musical competitions in Europe as a soloist and as a chamber musician.
In Melbourne, he plays with the following bands:
- Eltham Concert Band, 1st Alto Saxophone;
- Italian Musical Band “Vincenzo Bellini”, Soprano/1st Alto/ Tenor Saxophone;
- St. Albans Melita Band, Soprano/1st Alto Saxophone;
- Frank Charles Big Band, Tenor Saxophone.
In addition to his academic background, he has expressed his passion for conducting and education founding the Music School "Amici della Musica" in Civitella Messer Raimondo (Italy).
As Artistic Director of the school, he founded and conducted a Marching/Concert Band with about 40 players. He is always keen to conduct a band and be helpful within the community ensuring positive energy, humility and self-commitment in order to reinforce team unity.
He currently works as a music teacher and band director at the bilingual school Brunswick South Primary School.
In the vibrant Victorian music scene, he is currently enjoying being the conductor of the Italian Musical Band “Vincenzo Bellini”.
