Jessica Fanner

Music Teacher
Flute, Piano

Jessica has completed her Bachelor of Music from Monash University (2014) and her Master of Teaching (secondary) from Australian Catholic University in 2017. Jess began the piano at a young age and picked up a flute soon after. She has been teaching privately since 2010 and enjoys teaching students the fundamentals of music. Jessica received a music scholarship to study at Box Hill Institute, before transferring to Monash in 2012. Whilst she was at Monash University, Jess was under the direction of low flutes specialist, Peter Sheridan. She has studied extensively with flautists such as Carolyn Ondaatje and Carolyn Grace. Jess has performed world and Australian premieres on the bass flute and has been an adjudicator at the Victorian Flute Competition. Currently, Jess is a flute and classroom music teacher at Santa Maria College. Jessica believes that anyone can learn any instrument, at any age and is always happy to help - whether that be for AMEB exams or just for fun. Each lesson is individually tailored and focuses on music, technique, theory and aural development.
