After completing a BA Music Industry at RMIT and extensive study in Speech Level Singing techniques and Alexander Technique, Kat began delivering singing lessons tailored to the specific needs of students to allow them to develop their technical capabilities, repertoire and performance abilities.
Kat teaches all contemporary styles and can help you develop skills in song-writing, harmonising, music theory and performance technique; however, her specialty is technical vocal coaching. In this area, Kat uses her in-depth vocal anatomical knowledge and diagnostic skills to help you achieve a healthy sustainable vocal technique with which you can access a greater range (traversing bridges or breaks of the voice with greater ease), and an improved stability and control in all areas of the voice.
Kat also has many years of live performance and recording experience in Australia and overseas. She has toured in the UK and Europe, and in 2010 completed an artist development residence at the Laboratoire de la Création in Paris. Her live performance experience in folk, hip hop, and avant-rock acts here and overseas allows her to give invaluable advice to those pursuing a career in music as well as those singing for fun.
