Lawrence Folvig

Guitar, Guitar Bass Music Teacher

About

I have over 10 years experience teaching guitar and bass guitar in private lessons and in schools in Victoria primarily Melbourne. In 2005 I completed my Bachelor of Music specialising in improvisation at the Victorian College of The Arts. I am also registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching. I have taught people of all ages ranging from 6 years old to people in their 50’s. I teach in a range of styles including: Classical, Jazz, Rock, RnB, Pop, Folk as well as teaching concepts in Improvisation, Original composition/Songwriting and Music Theory. I endeavour to cater for the individual needs and goals of the student. Sometimes that can mean intense theory lessons or focusing on developing classical technique. Other times it can be just learning the essentials you need to play the songs you want to play or helping you develop the skills needed for writing and creating your own music. It all depends on what the student is looking to get out of the lessons. Primarily music should be fun and enjoyable so it’s fairly simple: The more work you put in the more fun and enjoyment you will get out of it!
