I am passionate about playing and teaching violin.
I have been trained in Suzuki method violin instruction, but also teach Irish, American, and Scottish fiddle and can help with AMEB exam preparation, music theory, and aural training.
My violin lessons are designed to provide a focused, progressive, and efficient means of improving violin playing skills while keeping students intrinsically motivated and enjoying music. Lessons are always catered to the individual student's goals and preferences.
I teach students how to read music and understand music theory, but also how to play by ear, and critically, I insist upon good technique from the beginning. I use various games, duets, and exercises to keep lessons and practice fun and engaging for students of all ages.
One often hears how it is never too early to start learning music, but it is as just important to remember that it is never too late either!
