MJGardiner Melbourne Guitar Technique, Performance, Improvisation, Composition and Music Technology

Computer Music, Guitar, Guitar Acoustic, Guitar Bass Electric, Guitar Electric Music Teacher

I have worked for 20 years in education and 34 years in the Music Industry. I am currently working at the prestigious independent girls’ school Methodist Ladies’ College and am highly regarded by my students and colleagues for my dedicated and professional approach. I am a classically trained pianist and flutist, and have been playing guitar, composing, performing and recording, in various industry contexts for most of my 34 years as a working musician. I am passionate about all styles of guitar music, with a particular focus on technique development, improvisation, composition and use of music technology. I have extensive engineering and performance experience in the recording studio, as well as an in depth understanding of contemporary Music technology computer systems and software. I have directed numerous public performances of young musicians and have played a pivotal role in devising and implementing scored assessment in the VCE Music Industry course in Victoria.
