Music Teacher Clarinet, Saxophone, Saxophone-Alto, Voice
About
I am a private clarinet, saxophone, voice and theory teacher located in Alderley, Queensland, though I also travel to many areas across Brisbane to provide lessons for no additional cost.
I teach students from primary school to secondary whether they need help with school band music, preparing for an exam or just to have fun!
Every student I’ve taught have enjoyed their lessons, their instrument and the ones that have sat exams, have found it incredibly rewarding and had excellent results.
I have commenced my studies as a Bachelor of Music (Honours)/Bachelor of Education (Secondary) student at the University of Queensland in 2018 and look forward to completing the five-year degree with the goal of becoming a high school music teacher and conducting ensembles.
On my way to achieving this, in 2018 I was hired as an instrumental tutor for music camps at the Karawatha District Instrumental Music Program, and the St Rita’s College annual music camp. This work continued in 2019 with the addition of the Queen of Apostles Masterclass day and being employed at the Virtuosi School of Music as a supply clarinet and saxophone teacher.
Furthermore, in 2019 I gained a position as an instrumental music tutor at Villanova College, Coorparoo teaching junior clarinetists, bass clarinetist, and saxophonists.
Before my commencement of this degree, however, I was a student at St Rita’s College Clayfield where I was a member of 7 ensembles ranging from a clarinet quintet to a full symphony orchestra. During school, I also obtained my Grade 8 AMEB Certificate on clarinet, Grade 5 equivalent theory, Grade 5 Classical High Voice and Grade 5 level on the saxophone and was a member of the State Honours Ensembles Program, the Young Conservatorium and the Queensland Youth Orchestra Wind Symphony.
As a University Student, I now am a member of the University of Queensland Chorale, the University of Queensland Wind Orchestra and continue to perform with the Queensland Youth Orchestra Wind Symphony under the direction of Dr Warwick Potter.
I am a member of both the Music Teachers Association of Queensland (MTAQ) and the Australian Music Teacher’s Register (AMTR), as well as being a member of Lessons Australia and Music Teacher’s Online.
I currently hold both a Paid and Volunteer Blue Card and outside of my instrumental teaching have plenty of experience relating to, supporting and helping children in my other positions as a tutor at St Rtia’s College Clayfield and an Outside of School Hours Care Educator.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any queries!
