Guitar, Guitar Acoustic, Guitar Bass Electric Music Teacher
I've been playing music for most of my life, beginning in grade three with piano lessons, which I continued throughout primary school while also learning alto saxophone. I played guitar for the first time in grade eight, which started me on a path that I am still walking to this day. Guitar provided a refuge and a method of self expression for me during my teen years, and allowed me to make many wonderful friends that are still in my life. Over the nine years that I've been a guitarist, I've also had to do all my own maintenance and modification work, skills which I hope to put to work for you, to keep your guitar or bass in tip top shape!
After completing secondary school, I went on to University, where I completed a Bachelor of Music and a Graduate Diploma of Education, majoring in performance.
Currently, in addition to guitar maintenance and tutoring, I also write, record and perform my own original music with my band and as a solo musician.
Learning guitar can be a valuable and enriching experience for people of all ages, but when starting out it's important to have someone who can help guide you through the learning process by providing goals, tips and encouragement.
I offer all of this, along with a friendly, engaging demeanour at my personal music studio located In Tarrragindi, Brisbane. My studio is fully equipped with several amplifiers for students who wish to learn electric guitar, space for seating and extra guitars if you need to borrow one.
My lessons cater to beginner and intermediate students who want to learn any style of music, ranging from jazz and blues to pop and rock. Lessons will often focus on learning songs that you want to play, then taking the skills learnt from that piece and building on them in future lessons.
Lessons start at $25 for thirty minutes, and increase to $40 for the full hour. I am also available for call-out lessons at your home, which incur a small fee of $10.
In addition to guitar lessons, I also offer bass tuition for beginner bass players. I can teach you how to hold and play with good technique, how to play some basic songs, as well as simple and effective techniques for excellent bass playing.
Lessons are conducted at my personal music studio located in Tarragindi, Brisbane. Tuition starts at $25 for thirty minutes, increasing to $40 for the full hour. Because bass lessons require amplifiers, I am not able to conduct home lessons as I am for guitar.
