Suyeon Ro completed her Honours Degree with First Class in 2016 at the University of Adelaide. Suyeon has studied with many reputable violinists and violists both in Australia and in Korea including: Jinwoo Lee, Sanghee Ahn (violist
from Suwon Symphony Orchestra), Anna Webb (violist in Kegelstatt Ensemble) and most recently Keith Crellin (former Head of Strings at Elder Conservatorium Music).
Suyeon is a recipient of many awards and prizes including the Osan Music Education Competition Prize, Suwon Students Music Competition Award, Kyung Hee University Competition Award and Herald Music Competition Prize.
She also has performed as a soloist and chamber musician with the Elder Conservatorium Chamber Orchestra, Marryatville High School’s Chamber Orchestra, Elder Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra, Elder Conservatorium Chamber Orchestra and Adelaide Youth Orchestra.
Suyeon is a keen chamber musician and is currently a member of the Maple String Quartet, which has attended and performed many master classes and various chamber workshop programs, including Australia Chamber Music Festival. She has also participated in Co-opera tour to VIC and NSW recently.
She has also completed an orchestral traineeship program with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and has been teaching privately since 2012. Many of Suyeon’s previous students have achieved high results in their performances and examinations. Suyeon is able to teach both violin and viola and she is highly sought after for her kind, yet clearly focused lessons. Suyeon also currently teaches both violin and viola at schools in Adelaide.
