Caroline Ng: A Distinguished Musician and Visionary Music Educator

Caroline is an award-winning piano teacher, international music educator, and official organiser of the Asian Students Arts Festival, an international music competition celebrating young musical talent across the globe. With over 20 years of teaching experience, Caroline is widely trusted by parents seeking high-quality, holistic piano lessons for children in Adelaide.

While Caroline’s students consistently achieve outstanding results in music exams and international competitions, her teaching philosophy is not exam- or competition-driven. Instead, she delivers a carefully structured, comprehensive piano programme that develops strong musicianship, technical confidence, musical understanding, and a genuine love of music. Examination and competition success naturally follows as an outcome of this solid foundation.

Caroline maintains a 100% pass rate in both ABRSM and AMEB piano examinations, with over 90% of her students achieving Distinctions—a reflection of her holistic approach and long-term educational planning rather than short-term coaching.

She holds a Master’s Degree in Education and a Bachelor’s Degree in Music with Honours from Hong Kong Baptist University, with specialised training in piano performance, pedagogy, and child and adolescent development. This background enables Caroline to tailor piano lessons to each child’s age, learning style, and personal goals—whether learning for enjoyment, academic enrichment, or future professional pathways.

Caroline has taught piano in person in Sydney, Adelaide, and Hobart, and now works with students across all seven states and territories of Australia through her carefully structured online piano programme. This nationwide experience gives her a deep understanding of music education in Australia. She is currently based in Adelaide, where she offers elite in-person piano lessons, while also teaching students from around the world online.

Most recently, one of Caroline’s students, aged nine, represented Australia and achieved 1st Runner-Up in the International Final Round of the Asian Students Arts Festival. The student successfully advanced through a blind preliminary round and performed before a professional panel of judges in the final—an outcome that reflects the strength of Caroline’s carefully structured, long-term teaching programme. Caroline’s leadership in music education also extends to her role as an international competition organiser, giving her valuable insight into performance standards, assessment criteria, and the importance of healthy, sustainable musical development.

A passionate advocate for early childhood music education, Caroline is the exclusive instructor of the WunderKeys Piano for Preschoolers (Ages 3–5) curriculum in Adelaide, Sydney, and Hobart, making her a trusted choice for parents seeking piano lessons for young beginners.

Her excellence in teaching has been widely recognised. Caroline has received multiple Outstanding Teacher Awards, and she has been named Most Popular Tutor in South Australia consecutively since 2020. She is also a pioneer in online music education, with her blog awarded Best Music Education Blog by Yahoo Hong Kong.

In addition to private teaching, Caroline has served as a Lecturer at the Hong Kong Design Institute and an Adjunct Faculty Member of the Hong Kong International Institute of Music, mentoring future musicians and educators. She regularly organises workshops, masterclasses, and student recitals to build confidence, creativity, and performance readiness in a supportive environment.

Now based in Adelaide, Caroline is dedicated to providing thoughtful, structured, and inspiring piano education that equips children with skills for lifelong success—musical and beyond. Her holistic approach nurtures discipline, confidence, critical thinking, and a deep appreciation of music, ensuring students are well prepared for whatever musical path they choose in the future.
