About

I have been involved in the music industry, in a teaching capacity for 20 years, formerly as manager and teacher of music school “Bach to the Blues in Brunswick” – rockin’ piano lessons in Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne, and many schools of primary & secondary levels nationally.

I have performed original material in several indie rock bands, as well as JJJ award winning band, SFK, as keyboard player, bass player, and lead vocalist, as well as co-written songs.

My brand “PC Music Literature – Punk Spirit, Classical Soul,” advocates for self expression via music and literature. PC gently, compassionately, and ethically assists people, young and old, navigating current seismic changes, resulting from shifting ecological, cultural, and social paradigms globally. My aim is to empower my students with the skills to excel musically and in their chosen life and career paths.

I offer teaching and mentoring of piano, keyboard, vocals, ukulele, electronic music, theory, musicianship, composition and song writing, music industry skills, as well as band/ensemble training to all ages. I teach with or without AMEB or ANZCA exams – the choice is yours.

Music as a discipline cannot be separated from global concerns. Accordingly, human rights, equality, nature as inspiration (Steiner), music as a second language, incorporating fluency and literacy, cultural and personal relevance (Kodaly), are my platforms. I encourage social connectivity, via a shared passion for music. PC is about fun, savvy attitude, and radically imaginative “sky’s the limit” creativity, incorporating both new, and more traditional and proven pedagogical techniques. Playing a musical instrument is a life-affirming joy and also a portal to confidence, greater agency and purpose, and a huge contributor to creative (outside of the box) thinking in all of life’s pursuits!

I am currently enrolling new students. Please contact me – I’m super keen to share some music with you.
