About

Dragos’ priority is making music fun and engaging for his students.

He is a piano player with an interest in electronic music creation and composition. He is also skilled at aural training, and music theory and his ideal students are beginners of any ages.

Classically and formally trained through Marryatville High School’s prestigious special interest music program, Dragos has been involved in music for over 20 years. He obtained his Bachelor of Music Studies Majoring in Music Technology Adelaide Conservatorium. Keenly interested in composition and music theory, in 2000 he won first prize in the Young Composer’s award for his age group for the state of South Australia, and he has continued to develop his interest in the compositional field through learning the programs Cakewalk, Reason and later Ableton Live.

He has deeply explored the world of digital music creation, from DJing, to learning about synthesis, to the production of original electronic music in a variety of styles including dance, video game and film music. Dragos is currently studying his Certificate IV in Training and Assessment qualification, which will further aid him in delivering effective, and engaging lessons at all levels. His day job is at SAE Creative Media Institute, where he is working towards becoming a music lecturer.

Dragos would be happy to teach piano playing, as well as theory, ear training, synthesis, composition, DJ skills or digital music production in Ableton to students of all ages. He would also be happy to guide students students towards their goals and if he can’t help directly, he would be happy to recommend other people who could help them reach their goals.

Most importantly, Dragos he is looking to share his knowledge and passion for music with students with a similar mindset.
