~ I will be taking on new students in Melbourne from August/September 2026, but you can contact me any time before then to discuss lessons ~
I am a brass player and teacher moving to Melbourne. I have completed an AMEB Grade 7 exam (Pass with Honours) and a Bachelor of Music at the Australian National University (jazz performance, trumpet). Trumpet is my primary instrument; I also regularly perform on trombone and as a choral singer. I have played with the Australian Wind Symphony, ConneXion Big Band, National Capital Orchestra, and Young Mannheim Symphonists, as well as in various Canberra bands and musical theatre productions. I am passionate about music, and hope to inspire a love of music in my students. I have been teaching since 2018, and have a current ACT WWVP check (I am in the process of applying for a Vic WWCC).
I teach all ages from 8 up, and I believe that it is never too late to pick up an instrument! I make sure that lessons are tailored to each student, working with them and with their interests in mind. I am neurodivergent myself and have taught many neurodivergent students over the years, and my lessons will always be a place where neurodiversity does not need to be masked. I understand first-hand that traditional methods of learning doesn’t work for every student, so I take a flexible approach to help every student learn in the best way for them.
I will be teaching in North-East Melbourne from August/September 2026 onwards, and also offer online lessons. Please feel free to contact me by email if you would like to discuss specifics.
