Have you always wanted to learn piano but not taken the first step? Or did you feel like your last teacher didn’t really listen to what you wanted out of your lessons?
With a B.Mus/B.A. with Honours and the University Medal, and a Ph.D. in a music discipline, plus over 16 years of teaching piano and music to all ages, I can help you achieve your goals as a pianist and musician. I teach from a professional home studio with a beautiful Kawai GX-2 grand piano. I tailor each teaching programme to the individual student, and I have a warm, flexible and engaging teaching style. From playing Top 40 songs with your friends to impressing your next date with a bit of Beethoven, from taking your first steps with learning how to play and read, to acing those high-level AMEB exams…I can teach you or your child how to reap the joy and rewards from music, activating and developing the mind.
I also offer recorder and voice lessons to beginner level and integrated recorder/percussion/movement classes for the under-8s. I also offer expert music theory essay coaching and editing for music and theatre topics to postgraduate level, or any Arts/Humanities topics to undergraduate level. I am confident that you or your child will love learning the piano or exploring music with me!
