About

Conor Magill currently teaches at a private studio in the east, a P-12 after-school program in the west, and is open to private lessons at his home in Box Hill South. Conor has a Bachelor of Music (Honours), is a member of the Victorian Music Teachers Association (VMTA), and has a valid Working with Children Check.

Conor graduated with a Bachelor of Music (Honours) from the University of Melbourne’s conservatorium where he was section leader of second violins in the University of Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, and was awarded with several scholarships.

Conor has a diverse performance portfolio, working with international artists as part of the Mimir Chamber Music Festival, national stars such as Richard Tognetti and the Australian Chamber Orchestra, and even a performance with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation for Spicks and Specks.

Conor Magill is passionate about music both as a performer and a creator. Beyond teaching, he enjoys composing and arranging music, as well as exploring the intricacies of music theory. He has a particular love for chamber music, especially string quartets, and finds constant inspiration in Bach and the baroque period. These pursuits not only fuel his creativity but also deepen the knowledge and artistry he brings to his students.
