Despite the physical challenges of Cerebral Palsy, Andrew Hewitt has managed to make a name for himself performing in both Australia, the USA, and Germany, appearing in drum magazines worldwide sharing his inspirational message.
This message of ‘No matter what life throws at you, never give up’ gains Andrew the respect from his fellow drummers and students alike from all over the world.
Andrew has lesson slots available at his home in Penrith in Western Sydney from 10am – 7:30pm Monday to Friday for people who are serious about learning to play drums.
Andrew teaches a range of students from absolute beginners to players on an intermediate level.
Students with disabilities are most welcome. Andrew’s studio is wheelchair accessible and entry is gained by a ramp at the back door.. Andrew’s studio consists of 2 drum kits, a number of hand drums and percussion instruments and a small PA system to allow the maximum approach to teaching.
Rates for lessons are: $25 for a half hour session, $40 for an hour. If you wish to book 10 x 1 hour lessons up front, pay $350 and save $50. Lessons with Andrew are also available using funding from National Disability Insurance Scheme if you are Plan or Self Managed recipients.
Andrew only has one rule when teaching… The word CAN’T stays outside the front door. You CAN-DO anything you put your mind to!
