Elsie began her musical journey at the age of four with piano studies and later took up the clarinet in her middle school band. She went on to major in clarinet and minor in piano at National Dong Hwa University, Taiwan. During her four years of undergraduate study, she became highly active as a piano accompanist, supporting fellow students in examinations and performances.
After completing her bachelor’s degree, Elsie moved to Australia in 2014 to pursue her Master of Music at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Studying under Frank Celata, Associate Principal Clarinet of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, provided her with invaluable opportunities to deepen her musicianship and further refine both her clarinet performance and pedagogical skills.
From 2018 to 2023, Elsie established her teaching career in Canberra, where she taught across several school instrumental programs, offered private lessons, and worked extensively as an accompanist. She has guided many students to successful outcomes in their AMEB examinations, often achieving excellent results.
Elsie’s teaching philosophy centres on nurturing students’ interest in music, developing strong musicality, and enhancing technical skills to help them achieve personal goals and examination success. She presents annual student concerts, ensuring that music learning extends beyond the practice room and onto the stage, where students can share their progress and celebrate their hard work through performance.
