Fletcher Cox is the Principal Trumpet of the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra. He is a passionate performer and educator with a wealth of teaching experience for students of all ages, having held teaching positions at the University of Western Australia, as well as primary and high schools in Sydney and Perth. Fletcher enjoys sharing his passion for the trumpet and music-making with his students and aims to create a learning experience tailored to each individual student.
As a performer, Fletcher is highly sought after. He is a graduate of the Sydney Symphony Fellowship Program, the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) and the University of Western Australia. Prior to his appointment at the TSO, Fletcher had performed regularly all around Australia and abroad as a full time freelance musician, including extended contract work with the West Australian and Queensland Symphony Orchestras, as well as regularly performing in Sydney at the Opera House.
