An experienced performer, accompanist and instrumental teacher, Matthew has recently played in a number of community orchestras on double bass including the Essendon and South Melbourne Symphonies.
He also performed regularly for many years as a professional opera singer with Opera Australia and toured Australia with Co-Opera of Adelaide after graduating from Melba Conservatorium of Music and Melbourne University.
With a focus on accelerated learning, Matthew has taught students from 5 to 70 years of age who have had success in AMEB exams. One primary aged student received A+ for AMEB grade 8 piano after 2 years of lessons. He has also taught in public, private and Catholic schools, all years from prep to VCE with graduates in piano, cello and voice (classical and contemporary).
A school choir he directed and accompanied for many years was described as better than professional. Another former primary aged student is performing jazz piano professionally after graduating from the VCA.
