Believing that everyone should have an opportunity to engage in music, Chen delivers accessible instrumental lessons and aims to bring out the best in all of her students. With various teaching experiences, she offers tailored tuition to suit the individual goals and abilities of each student.
Chen is a Japanese-born multi-instrumentalist who believes that music is a critical force for human connection. Her proficiency on piano, flute and violin affords her a diverse musical life, and she has a keen interest in various musical aspects including teaching, collaborating, and arranging music.
Beginning piano studies at three years of age, Chen then pursued flute and violin after moving to Australia. Having studied under numerous distinguished teachers, she has received many prizes for the three instruments at eisteddfods around Victoria. From 2019 to 2021, she was also a part of the Melbourne Recital Centre’s Accelerando program, which is designed to take exceptional high school musicians to the next level. While undertaking her university studies, Chen looks forward to extending herself and engaging more broadly with Melbourne’s musical community.
