After 30 years of working for myself IT, I was asked to teach a friends’ granddaughter to sing.
So I took up this challenge – and found it very enjoyable –
fyi – she completed her music degree at the Qld Conservatorium last year.
Two years later I was asked to teach piano, this started a second branch to my new career.
Before moving to Wynyard – this was what I primarily taught.
I’ve been singing since school in all kinds of choirs , including the Brisbane Chamber Choir, The Derby Cathedral Choir , plus I’ve performed in musicals and light opera, both in the chorus and as a principal.
Until about 8 years ago, I rarely played the piano out in public. But since I started teaching, I’ve played the piano in recitals for my students, at wineries, and in a swing band, art gallery opening etc.
I’ve been the Musical Director for
a mens choir and
a kids ( junior ) choir .
a string orchestra,
a brass band,
a concert band and
a junior concert band.
