Marianne has been teaching students of all ages for over 35 years from beginners to the most advanced levels. She specializes in teaching advanced students from Grade 7 (AMEB) and upwards including other piano teachers wishing to improve their knowledge of repertoire and technique. Beginners, whether children or adults, are also welcome. Her music degree from the University of Melbourne included a two-year specialist course in piano accompaniment. She has also performed both as a soloist and as an accompanist within Melbourne.
Marianne doesn’t teach a particular method because she finds that everyone learns differently, but her teaching is influenced by the Russian method since studying under Yevgeny Meylikh, one of the most famous teachers in Russia during his lifetime. Her teaching style is adapted to each individual student. She has put numerous students through AMEB exams and help to prepare students for university auditions.
Accompanying is also an area in which Marianne has had a great deal of experience. This includes accompanying for AMEB exams, eisteddfods, university auditions and competitions and some performances at various community events.
