About

Teaches beginner to advanced children & adult students. Focuses on developing technique & musicality, and learning repertoire through positive, guided tuition. Prepares students for auditions, competitions, performances, school music curriculum and exams.

Raphael Harvey’s Trumpet Studio (Hornsby Heights)
Fees: $60 per 30 mins; $90 per 45 mins; $120 per hour.
Availability: Tuesday 1-7pm; Wednesday 4-7pm; Thursday 1-7pm

A graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, having studied with Leanne Sullivan (Principal Trumpet, Australian Brandenburg Orchestra), Raphael is sought after as a trumpet and cornet player, regularly performing with the Willoughby City Band, The Metropolitan Orchestra & Willoughby Symphony Orchestra, as well as many other ensembles around Sydney. He has been State & National Champion on Soprano Cornet and Trumpet. Raphael is a member of the NSW Correctional Services Band and is regularly engaged to perform ceremonial services on the bugle. As a skilled educator, he runs a private trumpet studio for students aged primary school to young adults and teaches the next generation at Knox Grammar School.

In 2014, Raphael obtained his AMusA in Trumpet. In 2019, he performed alongside his sister, Isabella, for the first time, as North Shore Wind Symphony’s Inaugural Concerto Competition Winner. In 2024, Raphael performed the Vivaldi Double Trumpet Concerto alongside Matthew Carter with the Hills Shire Symphony Orchestra. In 2025, he performed the Arutunian Trumpet Concerto with the North Shore Wind Symphony.
