About

My name is Sophie Schafer and I am currently studying a Bachelor of Music at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music. I bring a genuine love and passion for music and my primary instrument the flute to my lessons with my students. I have been studying the flute since I was 10 years old. I have a diverse range of performance and teaching experience, playing in the Queensland Youth Orchestra and various ensembles at the Conservatorium.

My specialty is working with beginner and intermediate students. I love to ignite the music spark in my students, encouraging and inspiring them to love their instrument and hone their musicianship skills.

I use the AMEB curriculum to structure my lessons preparing students for both practical and theory exams should that be the pathway they wish to pursue.

I currently have some availability on weekday afternoons and evenings, and on Saturday and Sunday. I will always try my best to be flexible in accommodating your lesson needs.

I primarily teach from home in my music studio, alternatively I may be able to travel to your Southside location by request.
