Alistair began music at an early age, firstly playing cello with Nelson Cooke. He moved to Lower Brass at age 12 and worked through the ACT School Program, Canberra City Band and Canberra Youth Orchestra Society.

Studied at the Canberra School of Music from 1994 to ’99 and completed my B.Mus. in 2007, attaining a High Distinction in Improvisation. Highlight of that time was performing at Monterey Jazz Festival in 1996 with CSM Big Band.

Worked as a freelance trombonist employed by Royal Caribbean Group, Carnival Cruise Lines, Princess Cruises, and Azamara Cruises between 2005 to 2015.

Now based in Canberra, Alistair is hoping to support rising talent within the region.
