Tara has extensive experience teaching both privately and at multiple independent schools around Melbourne.
She currently holds teaching positions at SACRE COEUR and Melbourne Girls Grammar.
Tara has had over 50 students of all ages successfully complete VCE music performance exams, MYO and AYO orchestral auditions and AMEB exams from preliminary through to AmusA.
Although Tara focuses on creating a strong technical foundation and AMEB Syllabus, Tara also incorporates this with music theory, sight reading, aural skills rhythm games. Tara teaches cello in styles of classical, modern, pop, movie/gaming music and much more.
Tara’s lessons are tailored specifically to all her students whether this be; exams, audition preparation, performance preparation or learning as a hobby.
Tara also actively arranges music for her students upon request and loves to play cello duets with her students. Tara also arranges music at the schools she works at for cello quartets, septets and cello orchestra. Her recent endeavours include; Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Beyonce, music from How to train your dragon, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Mission impossible, pink panther, Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables and many more.
Tara has a passion for sharing her love of music with others in the hope of sparking this love in others.
Tara holds a working with children’s check and National police check.
