Yif Xu is a member of the China Musicians Association with over 20 years of experience in guzheng performance and teaching.
Awarded the Gold Prize in the Youth Division of the 2014 National Dandelion Arts Competition (Dalian Region), Yif has been actively involved in Chinese cultural promotion since 2015 through the Confucius Institute at the University of Adelaide. She has performed as a featured guest artist for the Chinese Bridge International Chinese Language Competition and appeared in numerous concerts and cultural events with the University of Adelaide Chinese Orchestra and the South Australia Guzheng Ensemble. She has also guided students in performances and competitions.
Now based in Sydney, Yif continues to teach guzheng while actively participating in Chinese cultural performances and educational events at local schools, sharing the beauty of traditional Chinese music with the wider community.
Yif specialises in teaching children, teenagers and adults through bilingual (English and Mandarin) instruction. Her teaching approach is tailored to each student’s age, interests and learning goals, creating a supportive, engaging and enjoyable learning environment. Lessons focus on building strong musical foundations while fostering confidence, creativity and a lifelong appreciation for music.
