Hi, I’m Shimon “Shim” Moore — a platinum-selling singer, guitarist and songwriter, and the original frontman of Sick Puppies. I bring more than 25 years of professional experience writing, recording and performing music around the world.
I’m also the founder of Shim’s Rockstar Academy and a former performance and songwriting coach with Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy. My teaching draws on years spent in recording studios, on international stages and working directly with singers and musicians to develop their craft.
I specialise in contemporary guitar, singing, songwriting and live performance, including helping students feel comfortable singing while playing guitar. I teach teenagers and adults, from complete beginners and returning players to experienced musicians preparing for gigs or recording.
My lessons are relaxed, encouraging and built around the music you enjoy. We’ll identify what you want to improve, break it into manageable steps and put those skills into practice through songs. You’ll understand what we’re working on, why it matters and how to practise between sessions.
I know how personal it can feel to sing or play in front of someone. You can expect patience, honest feedback and practical guidance, with plenty of room to ask questions and make mistakes.
Whether you want to learn your favourite songs, develop your own sound or feel more confident on stage, I’d love to help. Lessons are available in Roseville on Sydney’s North Shore and online.
