Hello! I’m Talya, a soprano based in Perth, Western Australia. I have completed my Bachelor of Music Performance at the University of Western Australia in 2026. I also hold a Diploma in Music from Singapore. My training has taken place across Singapore, Australia, and Germany, and I have had the opportunity to work with esteemed artists including Lisa Harper-Brown as my principal teacher, as well as Sara Macliver, Andrew Foote, Lynne Dawson, Kirstin Chavez, and many more through masterclasses and coaching.
As a performer, I have extensive experience in solo, choral, and collaborative repertoire. I have performed with the University of Western Australia’s Con Cantorum and Symphonic Chorus and UWA Voices, including performances in collaboration with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra (WASO) and West Australian Opera (WAO). In 2025, I was awarded First Place in the Operatic Aria category at the Fremantle Eisteddfod and First Place in the Duet category at the North of Perth Festival, as well as Second Place in the Sacred Solo category at the Fremantle Eisteddfod in 2026. I was also selected as a Choral Scholar with the Perth Symphonic Chorus.
Alongside my performing career, I have over five years of teaching experience and have worked with students of a wide range of ages and abilities. My teaching experience includes working as an assistant teacher with Voices of Singapore, as well as providing private vocal tuition. I am passionate about helping students develop healthy vocal technique, musicality, confidence, and expressive performance skills, while creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment.
I offer private voice lessons tailored to your goals for singers aged 6 and above, from beginner to intermediate levels. Lessons are conducted in students’ homes within selected areas, making learning convenient and comfortable. I usually teach on

Each lesson is adapted to your unique voice and learning style, ensuring progress is effective and enjoyable. Most importantly, lessons are fun and designed to help you explore your passion for singing.
I am multilingual—I speak English, Indonesian, basic Chinese, and basic German—and I am culturally sensitive and inclusive, creating a welcoming environment for all students. Lesson durations are 30 or 60 minutes, depending on the student’s age and learning plan, which will be discussed and agreed upon during the trial lesson. Scheduling is flexible to suit your lifestyle. If you’re ready to develop your voice and achieve your musical goals, send me a message to schedule your first lesson.
