Arpit Daphalapurkar a self- taught Drummer and percussionist born and brought up in Pune City, India. He was earlier part of “Ledge13” for which he played rhythm guitar, bass, and did backing vocals. After assisting and recording an acoustic album (stripped) and six singles for Ledge13, Arpit realized that his true passion was for drumming and moved to Melbourne in pursuit of pure knowledge, graduating with a music degree. He composed few riffs, bass lines, and drum patterns for the band. He joined an alternative rock, grunge band “Stonerage”. Inspired by drummers like John Bonham, JoJo Mayer, Nate Smith, Steve Gadd, he practiced hard to teach himself to groove.
He played with different artists and collaborated with them performing at local Cafes and lounges in his town. During his journey with Ledge13, Arpit played all over the city and traveled across the country playing gigs and participating in competition. The band has played many gigs along with winning the title of ‘Best Vocalist’ and ‘Best Band’ in “Bharatiyam” 2010. The band is well known for their effort to try and being different and original with its music. Arpit learned a lifetime of experience in playing and recording with this band and he continued his music journey even after he split from the band.
Currently he is playing with two stylistically different bands “Stonerage and “BienWolf”. He has already recorded two singles with the band BienWolf. “Three lions and a horse” and “Track three”. “BienWolf will be releasing an album in coming year.
