About
Miranda is an active performing bassist and educator in and around Melbourne. She studied at VCASS and the VCA, The University of Michigan, and the Hartt School of Music in Connecticut.
Miranda has worked with the Melbourne and Adelaide Symphony Orchestras, Melbourne Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra Victoria, Melbourne Ring Orchestra, Australian Brandenburg Orchestra; and the Australian Romantic Classical Orchestra; she is also a core member of BOLT ensemble and Scottish Baroque group the Evergreen Ensemble, and is the director of the contemporary music ensemble 3 Shades Black, and musical director of Riff Raff Radical Marching Band.
Specialist areas include beginners to advanced, solo classical, orchestral repertoire, early music and contemporary classical music.
Lessons focus on technique, physical health while playing, reduction of pain from tendonitis etc, musical expression, and finding the way to make playing bass a fun and satisfying pastime!
