Qualifications and Experience:

I teach piano, violin and viola (beginner-advanced), and cello (beginner-intermediate). Although I am a specialist classical pianist, I teach a variety of styles. My Philosophy of Teaching revolves around the primary objectives of fostering an enjoyment of music, while developing a solid technical basis for future progress. Learning correct technique is an essential foundation for beautiful playing, and this is an important focus in lessons for my students; and in order to build confidence in reading music and to allow students to develop a wide variety of skills and experience, regular sight-reading and a wide variety of repertoire will be encountered. I have prepared many students for success in AMEB and Trinity College exams.

I perform regularly, playing violin and orchestral piano with the Brisbane Symphony Orchestra (http://brisbanesymphony.org.au/ ) and piano with Enharmonie Chamber Ensemble (http://enharmoniemusic.com/ ) and other groups at various times. I am a member of the Accompanists’ Guild of Qld, and regularly accompany for AMEB exams.
